overall impressions:
I was nukewarm to the idea of this game, and when given
the opportunity to play it I had a feeling I would be regretting the "
X " amount of time I would use up in playing it ... I was somewhat
surprised.
Before I start let me get this as straight as I can get
it .. this is NOT a good game. It is an entertaining game, and in my opinion
an addicting game. The graphics are absolutley out of this world. The
realistic look of Britney, the fluid movements of the dancers, and the
atmosphere in general all come together to form a very impressive package.
The controls are a bit too easy in my opinion. When a game does not really
pose a challenge to you the first time you play it you really do have
something to bicker over.
The sound, which one would think to be the heart and soul
of a game based on a " pop star " such as Britney is nothing
beyond average. Is that an insult ? Absolutley not, in my opinion many
games on the market today fall below average in this department, so average
should be a thing of pride, not an insult.
This game is aimed at the Britney Spears fan, the simple
gameplay and the corny storyline are meant to be entertaining and easy
to understand for the adolescents that worship the ground Britney walks
on. When you think of it like that then you can somewhat praise the game,
in my opinion it succeeded in appealing to its target audience. As an
older and more educated gamer the faults stand out to me moreso.
As I said earlier, this is an addicting game ... but that
is really for one play only ( atleast for me ) . After one play the novelty
wears off and you just have another game on your computer which you will
play every once in a while. Any male will enjoy the videos and images
of Britney Spears , as I don't think anyone can get tired of watching
her ... but beyond tht the game is simply stale and will be tired and
old for the more prolific gamer in todays society. If you are, or know,
a young Brintey fan, then this is the game to own. I am positive that
younger kids who love Miss Spears will fall in love with this game right
away, and for them it will provide something nice to do between thier
daily viewing of TRL and their bedtime.
I honestly think that unless you are in the target audience
you will find this game bland and repetitive, but if you want to give
it a try you will not be crucified by any means ...
