Juice Drops - a god send?
Alright - you're a graphic artist or a developer for a website,
or you need to create the all-time coolest flyer in the world. But coming
up with the right look, feel, and artistic slant takes up too much time
and you don't have the resources to keep a full time artist on staff.
What are you supposed to do? Well the good people at Digital Juice have
THE solution in mind, and it's a perfect one for anyone that designs websites
or any sort of digital media - Juice Drops.
Juice Drops are the perfect starting point for any print
project, including signs, posters, billboards, magazine ads, brochures,
postcards, business cards, tradeshow booths, fliers, stationery - you
name it! Juice Drops is like adding the creative skills of an entire graphic
design team to your project. Juice Drops are a collection of .PSD files
(they also come as flattened CYMK files) that you can manipulate and use,
royalty free, for anything you could possibly want. For $599 you can get
the entire collection of 16 DVD Collections (yes, DVDs!!) for a total
of 48 DVDs which offer up over 1,600 designs total.
Features
Well the features on these art files are amazing ...

The layered .PSD files can be in the 100s of Megs - they
are HUGE and offer up so much in the form of creativity that your computer
better have at least 512MB of RAM on board, otherwise you might see your
computer choke on these incredibly deep files.
SO ... just how cool are these volumes?
To answer the questions is easy - THE COOLEST. These files
are flat out amazing and aren't designed to just "cut and paste"
into whatever you are using them for. You can do that, but they really
inspire the user to use them, combine them, and use parts of some in places
to spice things up in a flyer or website. The volumes include:
So what have you done with them?
I've
been able to come up with some amazing stuff to be honest. I do some contractual
work for the Department of Energy for the United States government. Yeah,
some serious stuff ... I had to help the president of SGS International
LLC make one hell of an impression with a fantastic cover ... and I did
just that with one of the juice drop files. As you can see from the picture
(CLICK TO ENLARGE) on the right the design is amazingly cool and immediately
grabs your attention. What it has to do with Radio-Active Waste Management
I don't really know - you'd have to ask Greg Gibson about that, but I
do know that he was extremely pleased with the design and so was Rio Technical,
the company the report was written for.
I've also made a few websites using the files ... some are
completed, some aren't ... but feel free to check them out here:
overall impressions
If you were to hire a graphic artist that could come up
with some of the same designs that Juice Drops offers, it'd easily cost
you $1,000 a project, and trust me, I would know having worked as a web
developer for a Fortune 500 company for 2 years back in the day. If you
are a freelance developer or designer, or perhaps you belong to a small
web/print design company and are looking for new ideas and fresh designs,
then Juice Drops is nothing short of a God-Send and a must buy.
I couldn't believe just how cool Juice Drops are. There's
really a design for anything - from developing a flyer about your kid's
soccer team, to a crazy design for a box of the latest hardware that technology
could offer. You could spend all day looking through the 16 volumes trying
to find just the right design - but that's not looking at the potential
of all this ... since the files contain all the layers in the PhotoShop
.PSD files, why not mix and match to your heart's delight? Why not combine
it with what you've already designed? The possibilities are endless!
Juice Drops is more for inspiration than backboning your
designs around. There's some incredible designs here, and for the $599
set, you can have more than you'll ever need. Flat out - if you're a graphic
designer or in a department where coming up with fresh ideas and looks
is your job, then invest the money - it'll come back to you after you
finish your first project because of the time you'll save not having to
bash your head against the wall to come up with a unique idea. This is
a no-doubt-about-it slam-dunk Editor's Choice award winning product and
comes as recommended as any!
